the world, NYRR’s comprehensive fitness program includes

Membership in NYRR offers:

* Individuals who are NYRR members by January 31 of a given year, run nine (9) qualifying NYRR races and volunteer for one (1) NYRR race within that same calendar year, and maintain their membership the following year will be eligible for guaranteed entry into that following year’s ING New York City Marathon (i.e. runners must join by January 31, 2009, and run nine races in 2009 and volunteer for one race in 2009 to be eligible for guaranteed entry to the ING New York City Marathon 2010).
NYRR membership also helps to support numerous
community programs and safety initiatives, and offers many
ways to get involved.
The New
York Road Runners Foundation promotes health and well-being
in New York City communities with little or no access to athletic
programming. Its flagship initiative, Running Partners, is
a youth developmental program. NYRR members serve as coaches
and race buddies.

Park Safety Program, and a Senior
Fitness Program.
